A striking vintage handbag by La Moderna, made in Uruguay from what appears to be genuine crocodile skin in a rich cognac brown. The glossy finish really highlights the natural variation in the scales, while the gathered lower section gives the bag an unusual sculptural shape.
Finished with matching crocodile handles and a gold-tone metal frame with a clasp closure. The interior is lined in soft beige suede with its original La Moderna – Made in Uruguay label.
A beautiful example of mid-century South American handbag design and a particularly lovely colour. In very good vintage condition overall, with age-related wear consistent with its vintage.
