a fabulous vintage KENZO floral in the most glorious marigold yellow — bright, joyful and so good worn around the neck.
The design is scattered with large painterly white flowers, tiny pink blossoms and rich green leaves against the saturated golden-yellow ground. A simple double white border frames the print, with the KENZO signature printed into one corner.
The original Japanese KENZO label remains attached and gives us a little more information about this one. It reads 製造 発売 川辺(株) 綿100%, identifying Kawabe as the Japanese manufacturer/distributor and confirming the fabric as 100% cotton. Kawabe has a long history as a Japanese maker of handkerchiefs and fashion accessories and has produced licensed designer handkerchiefs for the Japanese market.
The lightweight cotton has a beautifully soft, fine finish and works perfectly as a neckerchief, tied in the hair or knotted around the handle of a favourite handbag. The combination of that incredible marigold yellow with crisp white and hot pink makes this such a fun vintage KENZO find.
In lovely vintage condition with minor signs of previous storage consistent with age.
