Such a gorgeous vintage find. This beautiful Bel-Air handbag, made in Japan, has a wonderfully sculptural shape with a woven straw and jute body, finished with fabulous little fan appliqués across the front.
The natural woven body is framed with tightly wrapped straw detailing, which continues onto the beautiful double handles. Three Japanese-style fans decorate the front in soft coral, pale blue and champagne, with delicate metallic threads catching the light. The little knotted button-and-loop closure at the top is such a pretty finishing detail.
The original interior label reads “Styled Exclusively for Bel-Air – Made in Japan.” A lovely example of vintage Japanese handbag design, with so much texture and beautiful hand-finished detail.
The exterior remains in lovely vintage condition. The interior lining shows staining, discolouration and general wear from previous use, which is age appropriate and shown in the photographs.
