The prettiest vintage Hanae Mori floral neckerchief, in lightweight 100% cotton with a beautiful soft finish that almost has the look of silk.
The ivory ground is scattered with painterly tulips and daisies in warm golden yellow, orange and soft mauve, with touches of deep green. One corner is finished with particularly lovely floral embroidery and cutwork, giving the edge a delicate, almost lace-like effect.
Originally produced as a Hanae Mori handkerchief, its square size makes it perfect worn as a little neckerchief, tied around the handle of a favourite handbag or styled in the hair. The original Hanae Mori Handkerchiefs sticker remains attached and confirms the fabric as 100% cotton. Comparable Hanae Mori handkerchiefs were also produced in Japan in 100% cotton.
The Hanae Mori name is printed into the design alongside her signature butterfly motif — a particularly sweet detail from the Japanese designer known affectionately as “Madame Butterfly.”
In lovely vintage condition with minor signs of previous storage and wear consistent with age.
