One of Fendi’s most enduring designs, the Pequin stripe was introduced in the early 1980s and has remained a quiet icon ever since. This particular shopper features the sought-after Fendi SAS Roma Made in Italy plaque, a hallmark found on bags produced before the company transitioned away from the SAS branding in the early 1990s. Based on the hardware and branding, this bag dates to the late 1980s to early 1990s, making it around 35–40 years old.
Made in Fendi’s signature navy and tobacco Pequin striped canvas with rich tan leather trim, it’s the kind of everyday luxury that never dates. Spacious, lightweight and beautifully understated, it’s equally at home as a work bag, travel companion or everyday tote.
The interior is lined in navy fabric and features a zipped pocket with the original Fendi SAS Roma Made in Italy plaque and iconic logo zip pull. The leather side panels are finished with an embossed FF logo, while the adjustable shoulder straps are secured with engraved Fendi hardware.
Overall, the bag is in very good vintage condition. There are a few small marks to the striped canvas and gentle age-related wear to the leather trim and handles, all consistent with careful use and reflected in the photographs. It remains a wonderful example of an increasingly collectible era of vintage Fendi.
