A fabulous vintage Fendi Pasta bag in black woven leather, finished with sculptural gold-tone hardware. One of Fendi’s more unusual vintage designs, the Pasta takes its name from its playful pasta-inspired hardware — with the wonderful curved, ribbed top handles on this version resembling oversized pieces of macaroni.
The structured body is made from intricately woven black leather, creating a beautiful basket-weave effect with plenty of texture and shine. The architectural gold-tone handles are the star, accompanied by a circular Fendi Roma medallion to the front and long leather fringe detailing at the side.
The bag also retains its original detachable leather shoulder strap, allowing it to be carried by the statement top handles or worn over the shoulder. The strap hardware is Fendi stamped.
Inside, the bag is finished in black leather with a zipped pocket and original gold-tone plaque stamped FENDI S.A.S. ROMA – MADE IN ITALY. The interior zip is finished with another wonderful Fendi Roma medallion pull.
The Pasta is such an interesting example of vintage Fendi — playful and unconventional, but still beautifully luxurious. The combination of woven black leather and oversized gold hardware feels particularly good now.
Condition: Good to very good vintage condition with signs of age and use. Some of the individual woven leather blocks show areas of surface wear, which can be seen in the photographs. This does not detract from the overall impact of the bag, but is important to note. As with all vintage items, please examine the photographs carefully and take note of the condition shown, as the images form an important part of the description.
