This is such a fabulous vintage Chanel — oversized, beautifully made and incredibly luxurious. Dating to circa 1986–1988, it is a wonderfully early Chanel from the Karl Lagerfeld era and retains its original authenticity card, numbered 0435673.
Made entirely in beautifully soft black leather, the bag has a wonderfully relaxed oversized silhouette with subtle quilted detailing along the base. The leather-woven chain straps are finished with Chanel’s iconic 24k gold-plated hardware, which remains in beautiful condition with that unmistakable rich, warm gold of vintage Chanel. A small hanging leather tab with gold CC detailing finishes it perfectly.
The interior is honestly one of my favourite things about this bag. It is incredibly large and capacious, with a beautifully luxurious full leather interior and multiple zipped compartments. There is so much room, making this an amazing everyday, work or travel bag while still feeling unmistakably Chanel.
In very good vintage condition, particularly considering its age. The leather remains beautifully soft and supple, with only slight, light surface scratches to the exterior from previous use. The interior presents beautifully and the 24k gold-plated hardware remains particularly lovely.
