A gorgeous early vintage Chanel camera bag in rich red leather, dating to the late 1980s. The classic rectangular silhouette is finished with diamond quilting, a large stitched CC logo and an oversized leather tassel — one of those fabulous details synonymous with vintage Chanel.
The bag features Chanel’s leather-woven chain strap, allowing it to be worn comfortably on the shoulder or crossbody. The combination of saturated red leather and gold hardware is particularly beautiful, with the quilted front giving way to a smooth curved panel beneath the CC.
The interior retains its original Chanel serial sticker, 0532754. This is an early 0-series Chanel serial number, dating the bag to approximately 1986–1988. Bags from this period are particularly lovely examples of early Karl Lagerfeld-era Chanel and have become increasingly collectible.
The bag is in very good vintage condition, particularly considering that it is approaching 40 years old. The leather has been professionally restored and freshly refreshed, bringing back the richness and vibrancy of the red while retaining the character of the original vintage leather. There is natural creasing and gentle evidence of age and use consistent with a bag of this vintage.
The bag’s 24k gold-plated hardware has also been professionally replated, restoring the beautiful rich gold finish associated with vintage Chanel. The plating is fresh, bright and beautifully shiny. Both the leather restoration and hardware replating are fully disclosed for transparency.
