This is a fabulous one. A vintage Salvatore Ferragamo silk chiffon scarf from the 1990s, with one of the house’s wonderfully elaborate animal prints featuring cheetahs, celestial motifs and a beautifully illustrated landscape.
The long, sheer scarf tells a different story at each end. One cheetah sits regally beneath a tree, while another lies resting amongst grasses beneath a crescent moon and star-filled sky. Flowing orange ribbons covered in tiny suns, moons and stars weave their way through the design, finished with a warm coral border.
The palette is gorgeous — soft olive, sage and cream mixed with golden yellow, burnt orange and coral — and the sheer silk chiffon gives the entire illustration an almost ethereal quality. Salvatore Ferragamo is incorporated into the design in its signature cartouche.
There is a small mark to the silk, as pictured, which has been noted for accuracy. Otherwise, it remains in lovely vintage condition with minor signs of previous wear consistent with age.
