A truly beautiful vintage crocodile handbag in the most unusual soft sage green shade — a colour that feels both distinctly mid-century and surprisingly modern at the same time. The classic structured silhouette, elegant top handle and understated brass hardware make this one of those rare bags that looks just as at home with tailoring as it does with denim and a simple knit.
The crocodile skin has a wonderful soft sheen and lovely scale patterning throughout, while the framed opening reveals a luxurious suede-lined interior complete with internal compartments and pockets. The pale suede interior remains particularly clean and is a lovely contrast against the muted green exterior.
As expected with a vintage exotic skin bag of this age, there are signs of wear and use throughout. The most noticeable wear is to the handle, which shows rubbing, cracking and lifting to the crocodile skin covering in places. There is also age-related wear and rubbing to the edges, frame, corners and around the closure, along with some light surface marks and scuffing visible across the exterior. The brass hardware has developed a soft aged patina which suits the character of the bag beautifully.
Despite these signs of age, the handbag presents exceptionally well and retains all of the charm that makes vintage crocodile handbags so desirable. The colour alone makes it a particularly special find.
