Done in the house’s signature GG monogram canvas with rich navy leather trim, this piece has a softer, more refined look than the typical black-trim versions. The contrast is subtle but distinctive — one of those details that quietly sets it apart.
This style sits comfortably in the late 1970s to early 1980s Gucci period — identifiable by the coated GG canvas, the rounded flap silhouette, and the earlier interlocking GG hardware, which is smaller and more understated than later, more commercial iterations. The interior stamp, “Made in Italy by Gucci,” is also consistent with pieces from this era.
The shape is clean and practical, sitting neatly on the body with an adjustable shoulder strap and a structured flap closure. It’s one of those designs Gucci did exceptionally well — simple, but considered.
Inside, it’s lined in leather with a zip pocket, keeping things functional without overcomplicating the design.
Condition is good vintage. The canvas is clean and presents well, the navy leather remains supple, and the bag holds its shape nicely. There is slight rubbing to the GG logo on the front hardware, visible on close inspection, but it doesn’t take away from the overall presence of the piece.
