This is such a special vintage Chanel — a fabulous combination of two iconic Chanel designs, with the practicality of a camera bag and a beautiful quilted flap across the front. It has that unmistakable early vintage Chanel look, finished in buttery black leather with incredible gold hardware.
The front flap is beautifully quilted and fastens with an ornate CC turn-lock, opening to an additional front compartment, while the main body has the structured rectangular shape and zip-top opening of a classic camera bag. A long leather-woven chain strap and oversized Chanel tassel complete the design.
The gold-plated hardware is absolutely stunning. It remains exceptionally bright and rich, particularly across the chain, tassel fitting and CC detailing. There is some fading to the plating on the small central knob of the CC turn-lock, as pictured, but otherwise the hardware presents beautifully.
The black leather is in very good vintage condition, remaining wonderfully soft and supple with beautiful quilting and only gentle signs of previous wear. The bag is also fully leather lined, giving the interior that particularly luxurious finish you find on these older Chanel bags, with an internal zipped compartment and original Chanel branding.
This is such a special vintage Chanel, dating to approximately 1991–1994 according to its original 2-series serial sticker, numbered 2882780. Now over 30 years old, it is a fabulous example of early Karl Lagerfeld-era Chanel, with all the beautiful details that make these older bags so collectible.
